IDRONAUT S.r.l. and GENERAL OCEANICS Inc. introduce the first intelligent autonomous single “NISKIN” bottle sampler, able to perform unattended profiles of the water column downwards and to autonomously take a sample upwards according to configurable methods like: pressure and time or a by means of a trigger value which is compared to the real-time readings acquired from: Pressure, Temperature, Conductivity, Dissolved Oxygen or Turbidity sensors and derived parameters like Salinity, Sound Velocity and Density.
The Smart Bottle Sampler is composed of an OCEAN SEVEN 304 and a 1.7-litre or a 0.5-litre “NISKIN” bottle. Communication with the Smart Bottle Sampler is performed by means of a wireless Bluetooth built-in interface. Energy needed to operate the Smart Bottle Sampler data acquisition and the bottle triggering arm is supplied by an internal 9V, PP3 battery. Power consumption during the bottle triggering is negligible and therefore, with a single PP3, 9VDC Alkaline battery, it is possible to perform more than 6 hours of continuous operations in the field. The Smart Bottle Sampler operation is controlled by means of a magnetic ON/OFF switch. |
