Remote Data Access Extension

Product literature - Brochure

IDRONAUT, following the path of continuous innovation of its products,
announces the introduction of a new OCEAN SEVEN 3xx multiparameter CTD
function that, due to a special extension of the probe firmware and the dedicated
communication hardware, makes it possible to remotely access the OS3xx
probes to obtain acquired data via the IDRONAUT REBUS (REmote BUoy
management Software) software per Windows.

IDRONAUT Remote Data Access Extension is designed to provide real-time
access to remotely installed OCEAN SEVEN 3xx multiparameter probes which
perform water quality monitoring from anywhere in the world in any kind of
aquifers including open oceans, lakes, rivers and ground water boreholes.
Acquired data is stored by OCEAN SEVEN 3xx probes in the built-in nonvolatile
FLASH memory.

The Remote Data Access Extension can be added to any OCEAN SEVEN
3xx(1) probe and allows establishing bi-directional full-duplex communication
with the probe through the GSM, GPRS/EDGE(2) and Iridium satellite networks.
Features:

· Communication device GSM data terminal is directly connected to the OCEAN SEVEN 3xx probe via the IDRONAUT
RS232C cable that can be up to 200m long. The RS232C cable is used to mechanically uphold the submerged
probe too.

· REBUS software remotely and easily allows modifying the OCEAN SEVEN 3xx probes data acquisition cycles
easily and automatically retrieving remote monitoring probes status and operating conditions.

· Through REBUS, it is possible to take control of a network of remote monitoring probes from a single land
station.

· Because of the OCEAN SEVEN 3xx built-in power management
capabilities, the power consumption of the monitoring probe is reduced
to negligible values during the time between acquisitions. Furthermore,
the low power consumption of the OCEAN SEVEN 3xx probes makes it
possible to carry out long-term monitoring without the need for on-site
power by simply using battery and solar panel.

· Data retrieving is automatically carried out by REBUS software on a
time basis, without requiring the presence of an operator, or can be
done by an operator when needed. Direct uploading of stored data is
possible through direct connection with the probe during site visits.

· OCEAN SEVEN 3xx probes, which perform remote long-term monitoring,
can be equipped with the non-harmful IDRONAUT antifouling kit (patent
pending) thus reducing the maintenance visits to the sites and associated
costs.

· Communication device (GSM) and battery can be easily installed inside a floating device from where the
OCEAN SEVEN 3xx probe is hung up. Marine high-gain antennas are available to allow communication even
on sites where the GSM network coverage is marginal or problematic.
(1)Presently, the Remote Data Access Extension can be installed in the OCEAN SEVEN 316Plus probe only. (2)GPRS/EDGE extension under development.
