The OCEAN SEVEN Remote Depth Readout displays the OCEAN SEVEN 3xx CTD real-time pressure data, by means of a four-line (4 x 20 characters) liquid crystal display, housed in a rugged waterproof container suitable for mounting at the winch operator’s position. The Remote Depth Readout display is connected to the personal computer running the REDAS-5 program through the Remote Depth Readout built-in RS232C interface. The Remote Depth Readout helps the ship operations preventing accidental damages of the profiling package components like: CTD, Rosette, Altimeter, etc.
The REDAS-5 program sends CTD pressure readings in dbar along with real-time alarm messages to the Remote Depth Readout at configurable time intervals.
Therefore, the winch operator remains in strict contact with the REDAS-5 operator. Furthermore, through the REDAS-5 Remote Depth Readout interface, it is possible to instantaneously send short messages (up to 15 characters long) to the winch operator.
